As Shaggy-Dog Sherpa, I am committed to protecting and respecting your privacy, in compliance with EU- General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2016/679, dated April 27th 2016.
What Data do I hold on you?
During an initial meeting and before the first trial walk, I will collect the following data and information:
- Owner’s name
- Owner’s address
- Emergency contact 1 (usually the owner’s mobile number)
- Emergency contact 2 (usually the owner’s work number)
- Emergency Contact 3 (usually the owner’s partner’s/relative’s/friend’s number)
- Dog’s veterinary details (practice name and phone number)
- Dog’s name
- Dog’s breed
- Dog’s year of birth
- Owner’s instructions in case of emergency
- Whether or not the dog is insured
- Whether or not the dog is neutered (and its gender)
- Permission for photographs to be taken and shared online
- Ownership of keys (Shaggy-Dog Sherpa to be in possession of a key/key to be left in a pre-agreed secure location/no key provided)
- Confirmation that the latest COVID 19 Policy has been discussed
In order to provide the best possible service, I will also make and store individual notes about each dog. These include:
- Diet (whether or not your dog has allergies)
- Collar/lead/harness/coat (what your preferences are)
- Travel (what your normal routine is for transporting your dog)
- Socialisation (how well socialised your dog is)
- Recall (what the standard of your dog’s recall is)
- Random quirks/fears
- After walk instructions
- Payment agreement (how you intend to pay)
I will ask you to sign and date the data and information that has been collected. This is put into records on a laptop and a paper copy is laminated and stored at my home. Emergency telephone numbers are stored on my mobile phone for your dog’s safety. The mobile phone and laptop are secure and password protected.
Any interaction that you make with me through correspondence by phone is secure and password protected. Comments on my posts are secure and password protected on any of my personal devices, but are obviously accessible to any member of the general public who chooses to view the post (open to the public).
Why do I collect and use personal data?
I collect and use personal data solely to perform my customer service to you. I do not share any of this information.
How long do I keep your personal data?
I store personal data for as long as I find it necessary to fulfil the purpose for which the personal data was collected and to comply with legal requirements under applicable laws. This means that I may retain your personal data for a reasonable period of time after your last interaction with me (for example, for the Inland Revenue). When the personal data that I have collected is no longer required for legal purposes, I will delete it in a secure manner.
Your rights to your personal data
You have the following rights with respect to your personal data: 1. The right to request a copy of your personal data that I hold about you. 2. The right to request that I correct your personal data if inaccurate or out of date.
Any query about your Privacy Rights should be made in person or writing. If you are unhappy with the way in which your personal data has been processed, you may contact me in person or writing.
